Welcome to the Parrot Webring Homepage. The Parrot Ring was the first
webring to bring together pages featuring just parrots. We continue to grow
all the time, and many people have commented on how much fun it is to surf the
ring because you never know just what kind of parrot will show up next. If
you have a page about one parrot or a complete breeding facility, you're
welcome to join the Parrot Ring.
Joining is easy. Just fill out the little form below and you'll be placed in
what is called the queue. Once you're in the queue, you will need to add a
short fragment of HTML text and one little graphic to your page. It is
important that you place the code and graphic directly on your parrot page,
rather than on a list of webrings page or some other non-parrot page. Please
note that often when you submit a site, you'll get an error message saying the
URL you've submitted is invalid. Ignore that and press the Submit Anyway
button at the bottom of the screen. The error message is very frequently
encountered. Just be sure to include the http:// at the beginning of the
submitted URL.
If you have any problems, please feel free to email me
at mac@maccam.com.
I will be delighted to assist you with getting the code installed
and helping in any way I can.
What's Next?
Once you've put the code and graphics on your
page, email me at mac@maccam.com and let
me know you're ready to be added to the ring. I will double check your
page and the make sure you've inserted the correct information into the
code fragment and add you to the ring. It's that easy!
There's two fragments of HTML that you can choose from. The first one shown
below is for older browsers that might not support HTML tables or maybe you
just don't want to use fancier HTML code. The second HTML fragment shown uses
a table to present the same information with a slightly better looking
appearance. The bottom of this page uses the second form of HTML.
Non-Table HTML Fragment
Please copy the following onto your parrot page if you do NOT want to use a
table to display The Parrot Ring information. Make sure that your email
address and your site ID number (which will be sent to you when you
join the queue) are filled into the appropriate places. There are
blank lines in the fragment below, and those are where your personal
information goes. Please remove any extra lines so that the ID number
is not followed by or preceded by blank lines. The fist blank line should
be your email address, e.g. mac@maccam.com (changed to yours of course) and
the second blank line can be whatever name you go by (Mac in my case). The
remaining seven blank lines will be your site ID number, which you receive
when you join the queue. Simply copy the fragment as is on this page, fix
the blank lines with your person data, and upload your page together with
the one graphic, parrot_r.jpg to your server. The one graphic is used in
the webring navigational system below.
